IT'S BEEN A WHILE. . .

Okay so five months later I am finally updating this blog thingy! And what a crazy five months! I have been wanting to get this done for a while, but my computer was not reading my SD card. So I finally saved the pics to Jared's laptop and SHAZAM! Pictures finally! (Note to all women with husbands who can fix everything!: Jared thought he could fix our computer and now it is in the repair shop just trying to see if we can salvage anything that was on it! At least he admitted that next time we will just take it in first!) But the last time I tried to do a blog update I found Ashton in the other room with an empty bottle of comet that used to be full! I had aqua colored carpet that had to be vacuumed, the whole area had to then be handwashed and of course the room had to be aired out! Immediately preceding this he got in the bathtub with his boots on, and immediately following he gave half of his cookie to Ryan, which Ryan was spitting up all night long!

So now to the real updates! Ryan is 5 months old and doing great! He is such a happy, easy going baby except for when he is hungry! Then he knows how to turn on a massey temper! The kids absolutely adore him and I cannot tell Ashton enough times to stay out of Ryan's room and to NOT climb in his bed and wake him up. This usually happens once a day. Ashton is potty trained and thinks that means he gets to go around naked all the time everywhere! I think it is a guy thing! He is full of energy! Reagan is in Sunbeams and she loves it! She has really started coming out of her shell lately which is great! She is very into anything fancy! I can recite from memory Fancy Nancy and 10 Little Dinosaurs between she and Ashton reading those books incessantly! They are all soo much fun and keep us on our toes and on the look out for those "it seems too quiet" moments!

BIG SURPRISE!

The morning after the wedding, reception and stitches (august 22) I woke up only to realize that my water broke! It was actually kind of scary. It was exactly four weeks before I was due and I thought oh no this is too early! Anyway, Ryan Todd Massey entered this world at 8:50 p.m. and weighed 5 lbs 6 oz and was 19 inches long. At first he was doing pretty good. He just needed a little bit of oxygen, but then the next night at midnight I had my doctor and the neonatologist come and wake me up in my room to tell me that Ryan was really struggling and not looking good. I just sat and cried. The next morning they gave him some surfactant which was supposed to work immediately and it didn't. We were pretty scared. They were almost to lifelight him and then he finally was able to start keeping up his oxygen levels with the help of the cpap (which before wasn't working.). He was in respiratory distress and had preterm lung disease. He was such a fighter though! In order to give him the surfactant they had to tranquilize the poor guy. But after 8 days in the hospital we finally got to bring him home with some oxygen! Last week he was able to go entirely without any oxygen! And now he is doing absolutely fantastic! We love our little guy and Ashton and Reagan give him LOTS of hugs and kisses! He will be four weeks old Saturday September 19 (his actual due date!)! We feel so blessed for the technology and knowledge of the human body that we have and that we just got a neonatologist in this area a few months ago so that we didn't have to be lifelighted! Also, I am extremely blessed to have a wonderful husband who was constantly running around keeping up on everything during Ryan's first two weeks! He watched and played with the kids and would bring them to the nursery to look at Ryan, cleaned house, and basically played mommy and daddy for me! Thanks, I love you babe!

Congratulations! My little sister Whitney married Jared's little bro Skyler in the Salt Lake Temple on August 20! It was a fun day and Lindsey and Addison even were able to make it out for it! Everything went great, Whitney looked stunning and Skyler got lucky to get her! The next day ( the 21st) was the reception. I made the cake for it and in the middle of cake making I heard a scream outside. This was not a typical scream! I ran outside to find Ashton covered in blood (I don't know how many more times I will have to have sights like this, but I am sure that was not the last!) After I got the blood washed off and was finally able to discover the sight of injury I noticed that just under his lip was a huge split! We debated about if it needed stitches, decided it probably did and took him to the E.R. Yep, he split all the way through his lip! He only needed two stitches, but he was not happy! He kept telling the doctors to "go away" and screamed NO throughout the whole procedure! We didn't get a great picture of it, because of all the ongoing events, so if you can see in these pictures his bottom lip where it seems a little discolored that is where it happened! We didn't think we were going to have time to finish getting the cake put together, but in the end it worked out, phew!

Jared turned 30 in July and he still looks as sexy as ever! We had a big party for him completed with lots of cake, pinata and bouncer for the kids, and a frozen t-shirt contest for the adults!

Since it has been forever since I last posted I will just try to throw most of it into one big fat post! Here are a few summer pictures! We went to stadium of fire, park city, bridal veil falls and when my brother Phillip came out to visit we went to the mountains! Addison, Reagan, and AShton had a blast throwing things in the water. Reagan turned 3 on June 19! She is such a girlie girl! She loves to wear dresses and was so excited to get fairy dresses! She wanted a princess bike and has been having fun with it! She wanted a big princess cake, so we made her a castle and told her that she was the princess! What more could a three year old ask for? We love our little Reagan who is not so little anymore! Oh yeah, she had so much fun playing with her cousin Addison at the pool that she came home before her party and crashed! We had to wake her up for the birthday party and she was NOT a happy camper for a while! Can you tell?

So yes, if you didn't know we are expecting! Baby number 3 is due September 19! I am twenty weeks, so we are halfway! The kids are excited, and we just found out we are having another little BOY!! He and Ashton will be 21 months apart, and I am sure that they will think of all kinds of mischief to make together! Anyway we are really excited! Also, something else that would be cool is if he came on his due date all of our kids will have been born on the 19 (just a little side note!)!

The pictures weren't very good. We got a 4-D Ultrasound but it wasn't too much different, they said 25 weeks was the best time. And the little stinker had his face to my back the whole time so we couldn't even get a face shot! I knew it was a boy when he wasn't cooperating!

What can I say? He is all boy! At first when I saw him after his fall, his face was literally COVERED in blood, so I am glad this is all it turned out to be! He got his forehead and nose pretty good, and then about a week before he scraped his chin to pieces, so his whole face looked pretty banged up!

We had a great Easter. Reagan woke up at 3:00 a.m. (just because that is the way she does things lately!) and rolled around and made noises in our bed, until Jared left the bed to sleep somewhere else! She finally fell back to sleep at about 5:00, and that is when Ashton woke up so we let dad and Reagan sleep for a while before we woke them up! But I think they had fun, even though I ended up gathering up the rest of the eggs and candy because EVERYTHING was going directly into Ashton's mouth!

Ashton has a major obsession with the toilet. He is always putting things in it: phones, toys, whole rolls of toilet paper, his hands, shoes, food (and has been seen to quickly take it out and put it in his mouth before it gets taken away from him) and any other object he can make a break away with to the bathroom. We close the doors, but there are always times when they do get left open, and then disaster strikes.

Well one particular day, Reagan was using the bathroom and I was helping her. What happened next was such a blur it is hard to tell; however, I will attempt. As I was washing my hands the major stinker (Reagan uses that phrase for him at times) snuck in behind me and as Reagan flushed the toilet he threw a lid from a sippee cup in the toilet. Panicked I looked over thinking, "Oh that is too big it will never go down." And I was right, until the toilet miraculously flushed a second time and took the lid with it. Well Jared thought it was funny. I was furious and knew we would have problems. Jared and his dad thought they had fixed the problem that night. But the next day when two days worth of sewage came overflowing into our bathroom I didn't see Jared laughing anymore. Needless to say it was a huge mess, and no I did not take any pictures of that and am not posting anything like that on my blog! It took a lot of hard work, expensive tools, and lots of muscle to finally unwedge that stupid lid from the bend of the toilet pipe things. In our effort to get the lid out the toilet broke. We finally got the mess cleaned up and a new toilet put in, and Ashton is still at the toilet every chance he gets. But look at the bright side. . . I don't think he will be scared of the toilet when it comes time to potty train. Actually the toilet will probably be funny, and serve as a reminder of the "good ol' days."

Well that is kind of what happened to Jared except we have NO IDEA what he ate or did or didn't do. All I know is that I hope he never does that again!

It took me hours to clean up and the oils sunk into the duvet cover and I could not get all of the out. People say boys are easier, but please tell me when I will believe that!

Disney on Ice was fun and it was great to see our funnest Cedar family, the LeCheminant's . Jared is getting a little paranoid about dryers and dishwashers breaking. . . actually I am too!

Can you tell that that is a good dose of spit up all over JAred? Well it is! ANd it is about time he got a good shot and I was the one to run and get the camera instead of a rag!

Anyway back to Christmas! It was great! Reagan was excited for Santa to come and she wanted him to bring her a doll and AShton a toy. Well, I think she was a bit overwhelmed when her dad woke her up at 3 to see what Santa brought! Just kidding, the kids woke up at their usual 5:00 and couldn't figure out what their dad was dancing around about! He gets a little excited! But Reagan walked into the living room saw everything and just stopped, I am sure she was thinking "holy cow this is way more than a doll and a toy!" Anyway the kids had fun, and I had a great Christmas. Jared spoils me. He really does. He is always buying me WAY more than I need. I got a way too much that I knew about, and then he surprised me with a DYSON! It is the animal one and so it really sucks (but in a good way!)!. I had no idea! It made the homemade bookmarks I gave him seem a little cheap! No he really is so good to me! I got an itouch for Valentine's Day too. But I guess as long as he wants to keep buying me things I won't stop him. . . besides I REALLY deserve it!

Merry Christmas everyone and a happy St. Patrick's Day! Yes, I know it is late and has been forever since I last posted. But I am not going to say that I will do better because I know I won't. Blogging didn't even cross my mind as a new year's resolution. Because at least those should be something you will stick to for two weeks, right?

I personally liked my BYU Super Fan costume better than the Lion, but Jared didn't care for it (which wasn't going to stop me) and in the end the Lion was a bit warmer than the bare chested BYU fan! So I know that those of you who happened to see that last post before this I am sure are wondering (as Audra apparently was), "WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?" Well, how now, brown cow! She deserved it! Just kidding! Well, for those of you that know Reagan you know what a little dare devil she is! She decided that it would be a good idea to climb to the top of the haystack conveniently placed in our backyard (in case hard times come. . . you know with the new President elect Barack obama who knows what will happen?) and tried to aim to jump in the wheelbarrow placed about 5 feet away! Well apparently she missed!

Okay. Now for those of you who really know Reagan you know that there is no way that is true! Actually, Reagan is a little miniature mama! She was helping me dip caramels in chocolate and of course, Ashton came over and opened that cupboard and started ripping all of the bowls out just as quickly as he could! Reagan tried to correct his horrific actions and as she started to chide him, she leaned over the counter to far and let gravity take over! Now I am sure that most of you are thinking the same think I did at that time! She is TWO years old, there is no way it can be broken. Maybe a sprain or something, but her flexible little bones aren't going to crack with a fall like that, besides how many times did I drop her on her head and she was fine (kidding again)? So the mean mom I am I made her wait for THREE days before I finally took her to the ER! She was favoring it and it was kind of swollen, but my dear doctor dad's words were familiar and had always been true for me ("Ehh, she'll be okay.") so I waited, until she simply fell down again and it swelled up really fast again and Jared and I decided that maybe we better have it looked at!

I think the doctor was amazed that she went that long and was so tough with it before we brought her in. So all in all with as many falls and absolute crazy things Ashton climbs on and over and everything REAGAN the nurturer and gentle girl broke her arm first! She was so good and cute with her cast though! No one could write on it though, she doesn't like the gaudy look!

Ashton, Ashton, Ashton! This boy is all over and everywhere!! He is a speedy crawler and already thinks he can do it all! Jared very often gives out nicknames, most of which never stick and are pretty cheesy! However, he gave Ashton two recently that seem to do him justice! The Bulldozer and the destroying angel!

What has Ashton been up to?

Learning how to flush the toilet!
Unrolls the whole roll of TP and then eats it!
Plays in the toilet!
Still spitting up!
Pulls Reagan's hair!
Give's Reagan plenty of hugs and kisses to make up for it!
Throws all the clean clothes out of the laundry basket, and destroys the folded piles!
Can't get enough of his DA DA DA DA!
Wakes up 3 times a night still! Something we have REALLY got to work on!
Opens all drawers and pulls out everything he can!
Tries to dive headfirst off the beds and couches!
Eats 3 bites of his food and then throws it!

Lagooning it Up!

We went to Lagoon this summer with my family, and let me say it was SOO fun! Okay, I know most of you are thinking "LAME!" But excuse me! I love Lagoon! It is the ONLY amusement park I have ever been to, and I love amusement parks! If I were a multi-millionaire one thing I would invest in is an amusement park! Then I would go every morning before it opened and ride the rides! What on Earth could be better than this?

Anyway, the kids had fun and that is probably the best part now -- watching them have fun on the rides! I really didn't mind only riding 5 rides the whole day because of the kids because they are so darn cute!

P.S. I was really excited to go because last year I was prego and had to sit out all day long!

Reagan and her cousin Madison had fun coloring on the rocks at first. But it quickly became apparent "rock coloring" wasn't an activity that kept them entertained for long. Needless to say they found one that did, it was almost the same activity -- just minus the rocks!

We have a terrible two year old. . . actually it seems to me that she has been in that stage for a while now. But on second thought, most of the time she is the cutest two year old! She keeps us smiling and laughing all the time and her little brother loves her! Anyway, she turned two June 19, so yes I am very late on getting the pictures up but at least I am finally getting to it! And yes, I made the cake start to finish. And no, I am not making that up!

We got to spend the weekend with Phillip, Lindsey, and Addison! They came out from San Antonio to visit in between Phillip's year 1 and year 2 of medical school (which is going very well I might add!). We were so excited to see Addison again. She has got the cutest chunkiest legs! Anyway, we went to the zoo and all Reagan could say was "I want to see birds. . . and snakes!" So we saw plenty of birds and snakes! It was fun to get to spend time with everyone. My parents, sisters, and brother and sister-in-law and niece were all able to make it!

Holy smokes! They grow so fast! Ashton is almost 6 mos old and he is so darn cute! It takes next to nothing to make him smile and he loves his sister! He watches her all the time and laughs at almost anything she does! He is just a good natured little boy. He is the kind of baby that makes you think you want another one. . . although it may be a while!

Reagan is at the stage where she is very picky about utensils and flatware. She always wants the pink bowl and she has to choose her spoon (never a normal one, usually Ashton's spoon or a huge one!). So I had to take a picture of this one. She made a huge mess with the giant SLOTTED spoon she insisted on using to eat her cereal! I finally convinced her to use a different spoon!

This is a pic before we left to church! What a doll! She was ready to go as soon as she put on her princess shoes. I was going to let her wear them, but Jared brought other shoes to church and connived her into changing shoes! I thought she looked cute with the girly shoes!

Since we have moved into our house and Reagan has diligently watched as I hang up all the decorations she has had an obsession with using the hammer all by herself! I know that I am young, but I am definitely not a dumb mother. . . I can at least realize that a 21 month old and a hammer are not a good combination (even if I think that a 21 month old and a box of Cheez-It's are a GREAT combo--that is what she asks for every morning for breakfast!). So luckily at Lowe's they have a child project day where the kids can come and build a project (goofy miniature golf ensemble, and an ant farm thus far) with their own kiddie hammer and nails! She has to make sure that she always has some part to do with it. She actually does a fairly decent job: she hammers in the general areas that the nails go. So please enjoy this clip of our master builder!

P.S. We can't help but brag, she can now officially count to 10 by herself! Which shows how well her speech and memory is coming which isn't good when she walks around saying, "shoot, crap" all day and calls things "dumb!"

We love our little Ash! Reagan still cannot get enough of him and neither can we! He is such a doll! He is now 4 months and 2 weeks old, and is getting soo big! Which is actually quite amazing considering the fact that he is as reliable as Old Faithful! He spits like nobodies business! Nevertheless, he is always happy! He is the smilingest little boy I have ever seen! He smiles at anybody: he even smiled at Bink (for those of you who know her). Anyway not much gets him down. As long as he is getting some attention get ready to have your heart melted by his charm! I guess it is like Jared said, "He just has the Massey charm!"

April is a busy month for birthdays in our family! Unfortunately most of the beloved birthday boys and girls don't live near us. Reagan's favorite phrase is probably, "I do it!" She is such a big girl that she can do everything by herself ranging from changing Ashton's diaper to making and serving dinner! She is just so grown up that I thought there was nothing left to add to her maturing stage; but apparently I was wrong! She found Aunt Suzie's brazierre and new she could finally complete her independence! However, she did realize that it was hanging a little too low so she kept trying to hold it up to no avail. She was quite pleased with herself until I put it out of reach which, surprisingly, she was okay with. Maybe she decided she can be my little girl for just a little longer!

I am trying some new things out on our new computer, so hopefully this will work! If the only thing here are these few sentences than I am going have to try some more! But at least we now can update our blog!

These are a few pictures of the Whiting cousins! We had a blast when Phillip, Lindsey and Addison were out to visit, and even after they left Reagan kept walking around the house asking me for, "Aye, Aye (Addy)!" Next time when the cousins see each other Addison might be big enough to push Reagan away from her so she can breathe!

Reagan is learning things right and left! She is successfully potty-trained! She caught on soo fast! To be quite honest the hardest part of potty-training has been trying to wean her from getting a treat every time after she goes and getting her to wear pants! I guess I played up how cute her panties were so much so that she doesn't want to cover them up! But Reagan is definitely no dummy! She soon learned that all she has to say during Sacrament meeting is "poo poo" and she will be rushed out and to the bathroom where she loves yelling and playing with her echo! She can sometimes tell me she has to go "poo poo" every 5 minutes in church!

Reagan is also very good at saying her ABC's! She can say all of them and she has quite a few memorized that she says all by herself! She so smart!

Also, her speech is coming along very well! She says small sentences and about a zillion words, including crap which shows us that we have really got to watch it! My favorite is what she said after she fell down the stairs! She fell down about 3 stairs and was crying. I ran and picked her up and she cried the whole way up the stairs. Then we came to the top of the stairs she saw her dad and Whitney standing there upon which she immediately stopped crying, smiled and said with a chuckle, "I fall!" Also, the first time she went to nursery by herself I asked her if she had fun and smiling she told me, "I cry." We love our cute little kids!

Ashton's Latest!

Well, I had quite a surprise last Thursday! I laid my little 2 month and 2 days old Ashton on his belly for some tummy time and the next thing I knew he had rolled over onto his back! I had to check and make sure it wasn't just a fluke, and sure enough he kept on rolling! So it was fun (for me at least) to roll him back onto his belly after he rolled. Unfortunately I soon discovered that Reagan decided that she needed to roll him too! I can't be too upset, I know that one day Ashton will get his paybacks.

Also, Ashton went in for his two month check up! He now weighs 11 lbs even and is 22 1/2 inches long! He is getting too big for his 0-3 month clothes and it almost makes me want to cry! He is rolling, growing out of his clothes and smiling all the time! What next? A mission! Oh my gosh, these kids prove how fast time flies! But we love every second of watching him grow!

Well, as many of you may have noticed I am really not up to par with all of this blog stuff! But, I must admit I think that it is quite impressive that I learned how to actually get a cute template and create a playlist. Yes, I am quite aware that the playlist doesn't play and that it is at the very top of my page proudly displayed! But for me that was a lot, and I think that for a while I am done trying to figure out how to make it work. So you can all look at it and either say, "Wow! She is trying so hard, it is almost cute." or you can sit back and think, "Wow. She had so much going for her. What happened?" Well basically I think it is more than far to say that I just don't have that undieing passion for blogging, or figureing out the blog world for that matter!

We are soo happy to have Ashton here! He was born December 19, 2007 at 4:12 a.m. He weighed in at 7 lbs 13 oz and 19 1/2 inches long! And I must say the labor and delivery part was soo much easier the second time around!

Although this is a very cute picture of Reagan and sleepy heads dad and Skyler, some of the cutest pictures would be of Reagan watching football with her dad! We just can't actually get her to sit in the picture, she wants to take every picture and runs to the camera as soon as she sees it! But it is so cute! She sits with her dad, claps when he claps, hollers when he does, and yells "FOOTBALL!" It is good because it makes her dad monitor what he does and says when he is watching the game!

These are some pictures that I just took this morning! I thought I would see if I could
get some pics of her where she is the one in the picture and not the one trying to take the picture! She was pretty upset at the beginning that I would not let her have the camera, but she chippered up after a while!

Although, she actually let me take pictures
of her I believe her goal was to not look at me.
I did get a few of her actually looking at me, but
my word it was quite difficult!

I just put Reagan down for her nap so that I could actually sit at the computer without her having to run the mouse and click on EVERYTHING!
